Our town's homecoming was Sept 27. We've learned that part of small town living is that everyone goes to the high school homecoming parade and game. (Homecoming was Sept 27). The parade runs past the house of a friend from church, so we watched in her front yard. Seeing the high schoolers on their not-so-glamorous homemade floats brought back a lot of memories of being on my own Niwot High School floats each year. At this parade, the bands were the highlight. When the first one came by, Tanner smiled and stared. Dallin cried. When the second band came, Dallin stared and kind of smiled and Tanner whined, so I guess there were mixed feelings about which band was best, haha.

Later, we had dinner at another friend's house from church. We ate chili and laughed and watched our kids play rough house. Then we all went to the town's main event of the month: homecoming game!
It was Tanner's first football game ever. He loved it and was especially intrigued by the kicker's job.
We put these ear muffs on Dallin to block out the sound. He was quite content and just stared with wonder at everything.
Above is what the stadium looks like. See the huge water tower? It's an important landmark here.
We go out to eat about once a week or so. There are lots of little restaurants with their own specialties. The big-name restaurant in town is Applebees. Tanner eats enough now that we get him his own meal! This time he chose a cheeseburger. He is getting good at keeping the whole burger together from start to finish.

On Monday after Homecoming, we went for a walk at the Nature Center for family night. It was such a beautiful evening with all the autumn colors!
Tanner is starting to have issues with looking at the camera during "cheese." He gets that from me. Most pictures of me as a girl are of me looking off to the right or left. Recently, I was taking a pic of Tanner and said, "Tanner, look at the camera. Look at me!" He stared more to the right. "I am looking at you, Mama." "Tanner, you're looking at the wall, look over here. Look at Mama!" He then tilted his head towards me more, but his eyes stayed looking right as he said "Oh, I'm not looking at you?" Funny boy!
