Zavoral Villa!

Tanner was given a special baby blessing at our church on August 7, 2011. Not to be confused with a baptism, the blessing is like a special prayer for Tanner. Since Jeremy holds the priesthood, he was able to give Tanner the blessing. It was such a special day- one that I had been looking forward to for a long time. Mommy and Daddy aren’t the only ones who have been out and about. Tanner is getting his fair share of outings, too! We’ve taken him on lots and lots of walks and we’ve been to the beach, restaraunts, stores and even amusement parks. Every trip has been an adventure, some easier and more fun than others. Below are some experiences, among many, that we’ve had with Tanner in public. Experience: Buca de Peppo We decided to splurge at an expensive restaurant for Jeremy. (This was one day before his class party in LA). I had gone to a restaurant with MomZ the week before, and it was a piece of cake. Well, that wasn’t the case this time. As soon as we were seated, Tanner started fussing. Hungry again! I swear I fed him right before we left, which couldn’t have been more than 30 minutes ago, right? Wrong. I fed him, then got ready, then packed his diaper bag, then loaded the car, then drove to the restaurant, then waited to be seated. So even though it only felt like 30 minutes, it really was...

That's right. We up and did it. We left Tanner with a babysitter at 1 month old and went clubbing in LA!  Well, actually, Jeremy's MBA class had a big party to celebrate finishing their first year of grad school and it just happened to be at a club. The music was terribly loud and we paid over $15 for our lemonade and sprite, but it was still awesome to get away from spit-up and dirty diapers for a few hours. I got to wear a tight shirt, high heels, jewelry and make-up- 4 things I haven't worn in months and months! Jeremy and I felt pretty cool. Not because we were at a club, but because we managed to go on a real date just 4 weeks after having a baby. This is a big milestone, and I'm glad it didn't take us months or even years (we've heard of it happening!). We are so lucky to have several great friends who are willing (more like begging) to take turns babysitting Tanner.
