Matt's Accident

Our little brother, Matt, came to visit us for Labor Day weekend! He paid for the bus ride all on his own to come see us, so we felt very special. 
 Matt played with Tanner, went to the horse races with Jeremy, gave Tanner a bath, golfed with Jeremy, cleaned our back porch with us, played in the ocean with Jeremy, played ball in the house with Tanner and Jeremy, played basketball on the beach with Jeremy...
...and Matt got rammed in the head by a kite surfer, was gushing blood, got put on a stretcher and rode the ambulance to the hospital where he had x-rays, was told he got a bad concussion and received two giant staples in his head.
Matt stayed really calm the whole time, made jokes with the lifegaurds and nurses, and didn't even flinch when they shot him with the staples. I got to watch the nurse do the whole procedure, which was really cool.
 What a cute little barrette! and how nice that it won't fall out his hair, haha.

  Our celebrations for Independence Day 2020 were very different than what we're used to. This is my favorite holiday along with Easter, and I try to go big each year, so it took a lot of stretching for me to find ways to make the week special with so many Covid limitations. We ended up having a lot of fun! First we got things festive looking around the house with art projects.  Tanner really liked painting, with straws!  Dallin really liked it, too! We went to Walmart to buy some clothes for Mom, Tanner, and Dallin. Mom really wanted to see how she looked so Tanner took some pictures. We couldn't go into the changing rooms cuz of Covid, and there weren't any mirrors around, so this is the only thing we could do! Cool guys ready to celebrate in their new shirts!! A Happy New Year

Between Christmas and New Year's, we had some great vacationing. Jeremy worked on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve (cuz they are slower days), and then took off Mondays. So he had a much needed relaxing two weeks. And we loved it, too, because we got to see lots of Daddy! The boys played while Daddy snow-blowed, and then Jeremy took them around the yard a few times in the sled. Tanner is getting very creative with his imaginary drum sets. One day, he used the remote controls for percussion instruments. We went to the Minneapolis Zoo on one of Jeremy's days off! (Thanks, Uncle Steve and Aunt Katie for the giftcard!) You might be wondering, "Why go to the zoo in the winter? Isn't it freezing there?" The answer is yes, it is actually colder than freezing. Summer Begins!

Summer is in the air! This post features photos from end of May to beginning of June 2021. Field Trip at the Rose Garden in Balboa Park. Homeschool project with Aunt Katie.  This lesson they explored dragon fruit and made really yummy parfaits. Final days of Bucket Drumming class, Music Mappers class, Family Music class, and private lessons.  Tanner worked for me and earned $10 each week as my teacher's assistant in Bucket Drumming class. After training him, he did really well. Also, I recorded students playing piano and singing for a virtual recital. I hired someone to edit and compile the videos and it turned out darling. However, it was very time consuming.
