Hermit Crabs, Family Smiles, and Food


I took Katie and Matt to Crystal Cove near Laguna Beach. We got to explore a bunch of tide pools. There were thousands of hermit crabs, hundreds of sea anemones, dozens of sideways walking crabs, several fish and one enormous sea slug. Make sure to click on our slideshow of Katie and Matt's Visit to see all that we did to entertain them.We drove Matt and Katie back to Jeremy's parents house in good ol' Sac Town. It's nice that we don't have to pay one penny for gas because Hormel gave us a company car to use however we want. It's the pimpinest Dodge Charger you've ever seen! My favorite part of the 8 hour drive was having Katie read the play Pygmalion to us. Jeremy says it was his least favorite part. He felt like Katie was yelling in the back seat, but he obviously can't tell the difference between noise and dramatic articulation.

It was Grandpa Davidson's birthday this past week, so we had a party. Don't worry, Jeremy took the opportunity to market as many free Hormel products as he could. The grub from Hormel included natural choice ham, beef wrangler's hotdogs, and for Sunday dinner with the Zavorals, Loyd's shredded beef sandwiches and snack trays.

I love being with family! The Davidson's always make me laugh so much. Not to mention they are great examples of staying strong in the gospel. Grandpa had a bunch of scar wounds from his latest fishing trip. I love how he is still really active, following in Grandma June's footsteps. Next to this picture of Grandpa's battlewound he wanted this caption: "The fish got away." He got injured while trying to get the fish in from the line!
We had a fun time visiting with the Zavoral family, too. Judy made the yummiest angel food cakes ever! This is us with Grandma Ginny, a real trooper.

Hi! It was fun to see the pictures of Matt and Katie and on to the one at Denece's house. We really enjoyed the party and your pictures were fun. I was able to copy a few of them to my folder...couldn't let life pass without a picture of Bob's arm pit in my collection.

Looks like you really enjoyed having your brother and sister in law (sounds kinda funny huh) there for the week. Glad the drive went well back and forth, and that you didn't have to worry about miles or gass on the company car. How fun to be there for Grandpa Davison's birthday party and see family, you really are blessed to have married into such a great family. Love, MOM R

  Our celebrations for Independence Day 2020 were very different than what we're used to. This is my favorite holiday along with Easter, and I try to go big each year, so it took a lot of stretching for me to find ways to make the week special with so many Covid limitations. Spring Break

My mom and dad came to visit from Colorado during my Spring Break! We went to Balboa Island... Watched the sunset on the beach... Ate at fun restaurants like Joe's Crab Shack, Pei Wei, and the Sugar Shack... Toured the gardens at the Getty Museum in LA... Watched seals and dolphins at my favorite theme park, Sea World... And shopped for baby stuff and put things together in the soon-to-be-baby room. While putting together the crib set, Dad wore some glasses from Walgreans 'cuz he forgot his reading glasses at home. A Happy New Year

Between Christmas and New Year's, we had some great vacationing. Jeremy worked on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve (cuz they are slower days), and then took off Mondays. So he had a much needed relaxing two weeks. And we loved it, too, because we got to see lots of Daddy! The boys played while Daddy snow-blowed, and then Jeremy took them around the yard a few times in the sled. Tanner is getting very creative with his imaginary drum sets. One day, he used the remote controls for percussion instruments. We went to the Minneapolis Zoo on one of Jeremy's days off! (Thanks, Uncle Steve and Aunt Katie for the giftcard!) You might be wondering, "Why go to the zoo in the winter? Isn't it freezing there?" The answer is yes, it is actually colder than freezing.
